A 12-member delegation led by Zheng Chaoqun, Director of the Yangjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau, paid a visit to the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Guangzhou for a productive meeting with Consul General Lashinka Dammullage.

The delegation comprised entrepreneurs from Yangjiang representing key sectors including real estate, construction, renewable energy, tea trade, jewelry production, glass and knife manufacturing, as well as culture and tourism.

During the meeting, the Consul General showcased Sri Lanka's diverse export products to Southern China and highlighted promising opportunities for Yangjiang-based importers to introduce Sri Lankan products into the Chinese market. Special emphasis was placed on Sri Lanka's current investment climate, which offers significant potential for bilateral economic collaboration. The Consul General also extended an invitation to the Yangjiang delegation to attend Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled to take place from January 14–17, 2027.

To further leverage these opportunities, the delegation was connected online with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and the Colombo Port City teams, who provided detailed briefings on investment policies and available opportunities.

The engagement concluded on a warm note, with the delegation being offered traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and Ceylon tea—a small taste of Sri Lankan hospitality and culture.
